Mountain biking is fun because of the wide variety of terrain which is available, unlike riding
on asphalt everyday (those poor roadies). This terrain is influenced by weather factors, temperature, time of year, and natural elements and hazards. It is a new experience with every ride. Here are some tips and tricks we have discovered over the years about the different types of terrain. If you just pick up one helpful tip, then we have served our purpose. Just select the area you would like to visit and away you go...
*Freewheeling to me is when you are riding on downhill singletrack not to steep and you need neither to pedal nor touch the brakes. Your speed is determined solely by the terrain and your line - and the excitement builds with your speed as you focus on the line and attempt to ride faster and faster and avoid the impulse to use the brakes, but rather sharpen your skills, ride at the edge and hang on thru those turns!!!
